BASILISK LIZARD🦎
The Basilisk Lizard of central America, literally, runs over the water on its hind legs to escape from danger, while it is near a river or lake. It does not sink because of its high speed and its fringed toes that spread its weight. A Basilisk has been seen to cross a 400 Metres wide lake without sinking. Should this fail to shake off a predator, it can swim strongly and is also able dive, remaining underwater for long periods, until the danger is past.
